The French toast is a very simple recipe, most of the ingredients of which are surely present in your cupboards.

Ingredients

The French toast recipe knows no restrictions when it comes to choosing the type of bread used. Toast, baguette, round bread, brioche… anything goes! As is the traditional recipe, we favor stale bread, which avoids waste.

For 6 slices of bread, you need 2 eggs and 2 glasses of milk. To these two ingredients, you can also add all kinds of sugars and spices of your choice: white sugar, vanilla, muscovado, rapadura, but also cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg...

Recipe

Once the bread has been cut into slices or pieces, beat the whole eggs in an omelet in a bowl, then add the milk. If you want to flavor your French toast with spices, this is when you should incorporate them into the preparation, before whisking everything until you obtain a homogeneous mixture. Then, soak each slice of bread generously, on each side, so that it absorbs the liquid well. To finish, heat a little butter in a frying pan, and brown the slices of bread on each side for about 5 minutes.
